CELEBRATE EARTH DAY WITH A JUMP

Happy Earth Day! To celebrate, we recognize Fisher-Price's Precious Planet Jumperoo. This is a free-standing jumper with a 360 degree swivel chair and several stations of play. There are three height levels to adjust as your baby grows. The music function can be set to continuous play or to motion sensitivity so that the music turns on when your baby bounces about. There are toys to spin and turn, a couple of dangling toys to swat at, and toys that make rattling sounds. Requires 3-AA batteries.

Available at Toys R Us for $129.99 (Cdn).

So cute! I'll have to remember to put this on our Baby Registry (and no, we're not pregnant yet!) LOL!

Love the smile with the one eye squint. Wish they had this jumperoo 3 years ago, looks like so much fun for the little one.

I didn't even realize our babies are ready for the Jumperoo at this age. How exciting!! So they don't need to be able to sit up unassisted, eh? Do you know if they can use the exersaucer too? Or should that wait?

Hi Renee! Babies can use a Jumperoo as long as they can hold up their heads. If their legs don't reach the ground, use a hard surface (like a box) underneath so they can stand on something. A Jumperoo can develop their leg/neck muscles further especially if they don't want to practice sitting for too long. I like this one because the seat is closer fitting to the body. I've tried other types and there is too much wiggle room (you can also put blankets or pillows around the baby to pack him/her in). I don't have any experience with an exersaucer, but I've read that they should be able to hold up their head or sit with assistance.

Thanks Hip Teacher Mama. I was starting to worry 'coz Baby has started to lean forward / sideways or try to roll while sitting in the swing and bouncer, and I need another safe place to put him. Maybe the Jumperoo is the answer!!

I am looking at the Precious Planet jumperoo too! But what's the difference between an exersaucer and the Jumperoo??

Hi Vivien! The difference between a Jumperoo and an Exersaucer is the bottom. The Jumperoo does not have one and allows for the feet to touch the ground directly so the baby can bounce thereby developing some leg muscles. The exersaucer is a disc and sometimes the baby teeters back and forth. This may help strength their muscles while maintaining a balance. Other than that, both types usually have games for your baby to play with and the bright colours are cheerful for all to look at. I suggest trying them out at the store BEFORE making a purchase.
